Christmas at the crazy Nana's

We finally had a chance to celebrate at Nana's. My dad lives about an hour away and with all the crappy snow - they finally made it up Monday night. It was a quick celebration. My family was only there about an hour, because Grayson wasn't feeling that great. check out the red cheeks.

This is my dad's family. His girlfriend Lydia - they've been together about 7-8ish years now. She is about halfway between my age and my sister's. My dad is 19 years older than her. Almost 3 years ago - they had an "oops" and now I have a little brother - Jesse James (really).

He is such a boy. into everything and WILD. I really have to watch him around Grayson. He doesn't understand "careful - easy - nice"

It was a nice visit. sometimes quick is good.

Merry Christmas 2009

Santa brought Grayson a cozy coupe for Christmas. When Grayson went downstairs - he made a beeline for it.

We live on a hill. see that tiny piece of tan and red on the lower left. that's my car at the bottom of the dumb hill. Everyone that wished for a white christmas - YOU CAN SUCK IT. Chris's car is stuck at the bottom of the hill in the mud.
Grayson wasn't digging on the snow too much either.

Grayson has been in teething hell all christmas break too. About 5-6 dirty diapers a day. his poor bum.

Secret Santa Swap

Georgie & Amy put together a secret santa swap. They were awesome enough to organize over 100 bloggers to exchange presents secretly. very cool. I got my package today. It came all the way from Ohio. woot woot.

I had to control myself from just tearing into it like a crazy woman. The first thing I saw when I opened the super heavy box was kisses. yummy. candy cane and mint ones. love them!

I also received a super nice card with some super nice things written in it.

Don't all those kisses just make your mouth water?! They are mine. ALL MINE!

The first thing I opened was this gorgeous blue ornament. It's already on the tree.

Here is all the goodies that I opened. I really tried to take a picture after each one but it was taking TOO long. I want it now! My Santa must have known what a good girl I was this year because I got awesome stuff.

Santa Claus is coming to town...

Friday night, we attended a Santa party. You bring a present for your child with his name on it and leave it outside and then when Santa gets there he brings all the presents in and gives each child their present.

This is Grayson's first encounter with Santa and he did awesome! He was a little bit confused but didn't cry. He also only stayed on Santa's lap a second. But just long enough for pictures. YAY!

Wordless Wednesday

Happy 15th Birthday to my favorite nephew, Tyler. He was just 3 days away from sharing a birthday with Grayson. He wanted to share. He's such a sweet, good kid!

Grayson and I were playing under a blanket this weekend and this is the one decent picture I captured.

um ya.... I'm an idiot. I went to the DR this morning because I still have a sore throat (3 weeks going) and mentioned that my ankle has been hurting off and on since fair. He XRayed it and said it looks like I have a fracture at the end of my leg bone (fibula, tibula, something) and referred me to an orthopedic specialist. yay me.

Random Tuesday part 487

hi! i love me some random





I took the day off work yesterday and spent the ENTIRE day with Crazy Nana christmas shopping. I picked her up at 7:10AM. We took Grayson to breakfast and then daycare and then shopped until we dropped. Really, I dropped her back home at 7pm


She's definitely had a good run at the casino because she was feeling pretty generous yesterday.


I asked her if she noticed that G got his hair cut. And she said "well it's not a very good one. they didn't even square the back. it's like they stuck a bowl on his head." really. I think he looks pretty cute.


Any time we spend quite a while together she always tells me about her "hey days" how flirty and cute she used to be. and how she could sell a suit. and how good her body looked in this one knit dress she owned. Vain, much?

Chris and I bought a king size bed this weekend. YAY - merry christmas to us! We bought it used. So it is currently in the sterilization process. And we will be using a mattress pad. Chris said there is a 90% chance that someone has sex on it. But I told him the Nana has never had sex on her beds so maybe it belonged to somebody old. Gawd, I hope nobody died on it.

Grayson't new thing is crawling into the ottoman where we keep his living room toys. He's too cute.

Ever since he got his tractor from his mimi for his birthday and he's figured out how to get on it and off it - he's decided that everything else needs to be rode on too. So now he tries to straddle all his toys and ride them. Then he gets really frustrated.

He does a new head nod thing that cracks me up.

And last night I'm pretty sure he was singing to me. I was singing him Christmas songs and then he started "singing" too. He's so cute to me.

This is the ornament that Sheila made me. It's fab right? I hate crafty people, ya know unless I get something out of it.

Grayson and Crazy Nana

Grayson's 1 year check up was yesterday

Weight - 26.2 lbs

Height - 31.25 inches

head - big (I don't remember)

They said he's doing great. looks healthy. start milk (that will be interesting) 12-16 oz a day

He had to get 3 shots - vaccines and then have a lead poisoning test because we have old mini blinds. really.

The lead test sucked ass. They took a whole vial of blood from his arm like they would an adult. Oce nurse had to hold him down and I had to "comfort" him. right. And this was AFTER he'd already been stuck in the legs 3 times. We may be buying all new mini blinds.

I learned my lesson about letting Grayson "fly free" after his bath last night. He peed all over his on the floor mattress. I need to do a WHOLE series of posts on "How NOT to Mom" or I could just change the title of my blog to that.

Crazy Nana-ism. She's been going to the casino quite a bit lately. It's funny she always wants me to go pick her up - not meet her - because "she can't drive at night" That doesn't seem to be a problem when she's coming home from the casino. just sayin.

Anyway - the other day - she asked me how to hide money from the IRS. I don't even know what to think about that.
