STEP 1
First thing I recommend is that you associate an email address with your profile. You do this from your dashboard then click on edit profile.
In the edit profile you want to check the box that says show my email address. This means that when you comment on someone's blog and they have step #2 set up - they can reply to your witty comment with something just as witty and wry. This is how you make friends.
STEP #2. Never know when you get a new comment and you are constantly checking your blog to see if someone commented? I did this ALL THE TIME when I was a newbie.
On your dashboard click settings then comments
I have my comment verification turned off. I just clicked the green arrow option to see if that will deter spam. I don't want my followers to have to word veri after every comment. I need comment love!
The red arrow is where you will put in your email address. This will send any new comments straight to your inbox. Then if people have Step 1 complete you can email them back. Then you will become blog besties and live happily ever after.

It took me forever to figure that stuff out, but I'm so glad I did. Nothing frustrates me more than when someone comments with a question and I can't answer! GRR!
Good tips for newbies! I must change my email address since it reflects my last name. Hopefully this weekend I get around to doing that, so I can enable this feature!

I have put off doing a post because I don't want to hurt anyone. I wish so much that I could comment on every email I get.
