YDK SAYS - I've tried a lot of thermometers. LOTS - underarm, rectal, infrared, temporal, ear. Really! Grayson had a lot of ear infections and I was constantly taking his temperature. I preferred the rectal. I knew it was totally accurate. Unfortunately as Grayson has gotten older - he does appreciate this method at all. I was super excited to try this thermometer - because it's like the cool new thing at only $30. I liked it. It did take me a little while to get used to it. And to trust my scanning skills. Then I would take G's temp again with his rectal just to make sure.

I have an Exergen thermometer and I love it. I've had it for about 7 years. Mine has lost it's beeping sound but otherwise works fine. Although a newer, FREE one wouldn't hurt at all either. :)
I still use the thermometers the boys got when they came home from the hospital. Those little Digital ones that you can poke in almost anywhere, under arms, up butts and if you hve those covers great. I haven't done a rectal Temp on the boys since they were about 6months. It made me too nervous as to just how far it needed to be in there. I usually do under the arm and add 1 degree.
I'd seriously love this thing for ease of use, it looks way easier then what I've been doing which is trying to keep active/whiny boys to keep their arms down.

I don't think I have a favorite, but my least favorite is definitely rectal. My son is not good about the under the tongue/arm kind, so this would be good for us.

My favorite thermometer is a temporal one because it is so fast and easy BUT it is a very cheap one so I do question its quality and accuracy. I really want a Thermogen so I can trust the reading.

I remember being so happy when the ear thermometers came out since my kids were not good with the oral and I didn't care for the rectal kind. I think this new type would be great.
The ear thermometer is my favorite so far, but it still makes the kids cry. The Exergen sounds like a dream come true!

I've never used anything other than the glass stick ones way back when and a digital oral thermometer, and neither were too great.
I've only ever used regular mercury thermometers. The ones you have to shake lol. I know i would love to have this thermometer! Never go back to mercury.

I do think I would love this one – my favorite thermometer was one of those strips that you just lay on your forehead and it changes colors to tell you the temperature – my mom had one, and it was so easy to use (I don’t actually know how accurate it was though….)

Honestly, I still use the rectal, but I have been wanting one of these. We bought one of a different brand & it sucked! Never would give the right temp, so we took it back. I would love to have this one though!

I hate every thermometer I have ever used on my kids. The readings are never accurate. I'm hoping this one is different. I think my kid will like the fast readings.
