OK FINE! 2 people said whatever you want, Brandy, you will anyway. This is true.
I've been talking about I-spy quilts. They are quilts that use the super cute novelty prints and kids think they are cute. There are TONS of different layouts. The one I'm going to do is a disappearing 9-patch that Care at Obsessively Stitching did a tutorial for.

The quilt takes 88 squares of different novelty prints that I've collected via swaps and my money-spending ways. Click to make bigger and to ooooh and aaaah over my fabulous taste.
This is my sashing - what goes between the prints - notice the white-on-white dots and the black-on-black swirls.
These are the owl squares that I've collected for an owl-only quilt. This is taking me LOTS longer to get different owl prints. Thanks to my bloggy buddies for donating to this project!
These are ones I've bought on Spoonflower that I haven't received.
And ones I've bought on Etsy that I haven't received.
So that makes 56 owl squares out of 88. I'm getting there.
This is the NEXT quilt I will be doing. I bought the pattern HERE.
This is the fabric that I've picked out to be those colorful squares. It will match my blog.
But I don't know what color to make the sashing. Like where her light brown and dark brown are - I don't know what color to make those. I thought maybe a white and.... blue? too much blue? red - WAY too much red? brown? what color brown?
So there you go - now you realize what a huge fabric geek (freek) I am. All those pictures that I took? Not for this post - only for my own personal inventory purposes. I'm my own kind of special.

LOVE how "special" you are! ;) seriously, love the fabrics you have picked out and I understand, I am banned from buying anymore until I finish the projects I already bought for. Men are losers.
For your blog quilt, I think matching the blue in the pieces and white would be very purdy.
Again, I am in awe that you quilt! My mother has a friend who is a quilter and works in a quilt shop. I usually wander around looking at the pretty patterns when I go visit. If you ever find your way to the Fort Worth area, let me know and I'll hook you up.
That I-spy quilt is a really good idea! I'm in awe of your quilting skills, I wish I had the patience for it myself.
The pattern of your bloggy quilt bugs my eyes out, haha!
Can't wait to see your finished products!
Ooh pre-tay!! :) You are a geek but I love your special face! :)
Love all your fabrics. Again, jealous and in awe of your skill...can't wait to see the quilts.
Oh and totally geeky, you can get software to inventory your fabrics with bar codes and attach the amount and pictures to that code. You can take pictures of the code with your iphone and it would bring up all your details in your system for that fabric. Totally nerdy right? But so COOL. If I ever got organized and had the money I would do that for my yarn.
Once again, jealous of your craftiness. I get excited thinking I could make a quilt...but then I think I'm just too lazy and easily confused to do it. Love the fabric though...cute!
Those are great!! You make me want to sew a quilt.
For the last quilt--maybe a dark brown and a pale mauvy pink? Just a thought. It might contrast well this the reds and blues and whites.
Can you teach me how to quilt so I'll know what sashing means? I can't even sew on a button so you have your work cut out. I'm a mess. I need a cool hobby like this.
You are freaking amazing, girl. I can't make a quilt. I just know it. I'm too stupid and I suspect there is math/measuring/numbers involved.
Are you going to start selling your quilts?
I love all of the ones you have...the ones you made and the ones you are GOING to make.
The one that will match your blog...I think either red and blue, red and white or blue and white. LOL, that' helps right?
Also, I WISH I had an owl print for you!
OMG, I sOOOOO love your fabric... I love those little owls! And the polka dots! :)
Ooooh, aaaaah! I love all your fabric! It's fantastic! I think you should go with the red, but I love red, it's my 2nd (3rd?) fave color.
love the fabric...and I don't find it boring!
I have to say that is quite clever to make an owl quilt!! I bet when you get the rest of the squares and put it together, it will be a very cute quilt indeed!!
And with the I spy quilt; that was a lot of different fabrics you have! How neat to have collected so much from various sources!!
It is neat you do this with making the quilts (I just realized from typing the word quilt in this comment that if you accidentally type guilt for quilt could be quite funny, perhaps, or just maybe it is my mind....) Anyway, I think it is wonderful you do all this quilting, just don't do it with guilt about what you should be doing instead!
betty
Dude! The fabric in the very last set of pictures in the bottom right is the fabric I bought for my next quilt too!!
We have the same taste. :)
LOVE all your fabric choices! And the quilt that matches your blog? That design is fab!
White and Blue.
SO jealous of all your I-Spy squares. I made a mini I-Spy for my son and he LOVES looking for stuff on it. Really would like to make a bigger one though.
I love all of it. You're so talented! I wish I got into something like this. I envy you.
I haven't been in a fabric store in years. Those pattern are just adorable. I just want to own them and look at them. They make me smile.
To help you decide the sashing on the last, lay the squares on some colors you're debating and see if you like the effect. I'm thinking navy blue and white.
