More additions to G's room

I'm in full FINISH GRAYSON'S ROOM mode. I bought shelves. and fabric for curtains.

I got some plain clipboards and mod podged some scrappy paper on. They are to display his artwork.

I also got a chalkboard and spraypainted it.

Chalk and erasers is in the yellow bucket.

I bought a black organizer for his coloring books. and hate.
In my head - I want something that goes on the wall. PLEASE HELP!

I saw this SUPER CUTE idea to put READ above his bookshelves.

See - in that big blank spot above his shelves.

Yarn-wrapped letters that look like this. Orignally seen HERE

However mine looks like this piece of shit. Can it even be fixed? or should I move on?

And let tell you something right now. It takes forEVAH to wrap yarn around a letter. FOR REAL, YO!

love the clipboards with scrapbook paper...Ok...give me the deets on Mod Podge. I'm about to paint a book shelf and put mod podge'd wrapping paper on the back of each shelf. Was it hard? Sticky? Take forever? Get bubbles?

Yarn wrapped letters look amazing when finished, but everyone I know that has done it has had it turn out like yours. I'm not crafty. I'm no help.

I think it looks so cool-I am also doing the gutter shelves! If you hate the R rip it off & start over. Or you could paint it or find some other cool stuff to glue on it. I like the "read" idea. Heck-go on esty and buy a decal. I am lazy like that. lol

Why not take the yarn off altogether and just mod podge them instead? You can use the different colors you have throughout the room. I think the room is looking bright and fun :0)

CUTE! You are doing great! If you give up on the yarn letters... Maybe do the mod podge thing with those also?

I see those yarn letters, and I'm always like that "oh that's cute" and then I think about how hard and aggravating it would be and decide to just go for the spray paint! Pinterest would have all kinds of ideas for the coloring book thing. We're moving again in January, and I'm totally re-doing Bree's room. I'm saving stuff on Pinterest left and right!

By the way, the room is CUTE!

You have totally inspired me to get my act together and work on my house. His room looks amazing! I adore the clipboards!

The yarn letter - hm. That sounds like a ton of work and you don't love it. I saw where someone had taken old children's books (from a thrift store or garage sale) and used the illustrated pages to mod-podge over the word "READ." It was really cute.

His room looks great - pat yourself on the back girl!

Want to come do my house? I love his room, looks like so much fun to hang out/play in!!! I definitely do not have the patience for wrapping yarn around letters. I think I would have wrapped it around maybe once or twice and decided they looked good au natural.

Okay...LOVE the clipboard idea, that is sort of genius! Looks awesome.

Also, are those bookshelves from Ikea? I have a friend who did a wall of facing-out bookshelves like that and I love it. Seems like the books facing out like that would get read the most because you can SEE them! I totally want to do that.

What about those sort of organizers that hang on a wall (or in a cubicle, whatever) from an office store, for coloring books on the wall? They might even have at Target? You know the sort you might put file folders in sideways?

I love it all! You're good at wrapping letters. You should do more! ;)

Just wrap more yarn around the letter. It will look good once it's full. Also don't try to be perfect with it!
Love the chalk board and the buckets. I think Munch might need that in his "big boy" room when we move.

I think the letters look good!
You won't notice all the parts you don't like once they get on the wall.
Either that or the inspiration piece lied and they cut and glued.

It all looks fabulous and I hate you! In my dreams I don't even do such fabulous decorating, and in reality I do none at all. I think I need to get a new house and start from scratch :(

I love what you have done so far! :o) I cannot imagine how many times you wrapped around that yarn! Good luck finishing it! I think I would just mod podge it!

I like the yarn letters; I think it looked good the one you were working on; a bit more yarn and it would be there. His room is sooo cute!

I like the yarn letters but if you don't what about vinyl quotations from your favorite books or authors? Think, "Oh the Places you'll go"

I love it and will be stealing some of it for E or the baby's room. My question is....is everything still on the walls? I hear there have been more rumblings down there.
