That means no income for 2 weeks! I had things sorted out in my head and now I have to re-sort. and it's a pain.
You know how in a relationship their should be a "saver" Nope. We suck - we are both spenders.
Now we are budgeting. And cooking. And planning.
And Chris is all "you need to break up with Sonic" and I'm all "I'll break up with you first"
Remember this post - How to buy things and hide them from your husband ?
I will be stealth spending. I'm not talking millions of dollars but I'm not giving up sonic.
i heart sonic. bacon egg and cheese toasters saved my life.
So I've been cooking things and meal planning things and avoiding grocery stores.
I hate grocery shopping. Actually it's not that bad by myself but with G - shoot me.
We cleaned out our Pantry and apparently Ramen noodles have a expiration date.
And in the case of an apocolypse - we have all the green beans and tomato sauce.
I need someone to make me one of those fancy pinterest meal-planning boards. I'm way to busy pinning to actutally do.

There is supposed to be a "saver"?! Crap....we do a meal plan...and I feel like cooking for about five seconds...so we eat a LOT of sandwiches.
Pshht. I took paint chips from Wal-Mart, blue is breakfast ideas, yellow is lunch, purple is dinner. I don't have a board though. And pretty much every single lunch is sandwiches.
Saving is dumb! ABout as dumb as meal planning! LOL!
NEVER NEVER break up with the Sonic!
When Paul and I first got married, he got paid every week...but now, for like the last 3.5 years...it's every two weeks and it SUCKS. But for 2 of those years, it was every other Thursday...now it's every other Friday. For some reason, Thursday was easier to deal with.
Anyway...I feel your pain.
How dare he ask you to break up with Sonic? That's blasphemy! :) I love Sonic...and their onion rings...and their tots? I could eat my weight in their tots!
Have you tried online grocery shopping? Amazon Fresh might deliver to your area, and some chain stores do online shopping with delivery (or you just pick up the loaded bags and are done). Good luck!
Haha...all the green bean and tomato sauce! Let me tell you, it isn't all fun and games having a "saver" either. He just doesn't GET shopping for fun!!
The exact same thing happened to me when I started my new job. HATE IT!!!! We have the same payday and it sucks donkey balls. But I am trying to get better at putting money back but it's hella hard!
Well the good news is that at least both of you are working, right? So you just have to learn to adjust to the new way to get paid, which I know can be a problem if you have done it the other way for so long. We had to budget and cut back when hubby quit his job last year so I'm on old pro of it now. Plan your meals a week in advance if you can. If you can also have Chris watch G while you go grocery shopping; you'll save more now having him with you (I remember those days when I would just get anything, regardless of prices, just to get out of the store). You can comparison shop more if you are alone.
Maybe limit Sonic to once or twice a week?
Make it a game to try to save money with what you can cut back on. It does get easier. Now I refuse to pay full price for some things I know will go on sale in a few weeks at the store if I just wait. Its a mindset though.
But I know you can do it!!!
betty
yeah...I'm way too busy pinning to do anything, too. Even learn to sew. I got a sewing machine for Christmas and it's still in the box. :(
I'm kind of our budgeter. So...that tells you that there isn't much of a budget. I'm a little better than Brennen, but not much. It's just that boy toys are more expensive than girl toys...so he get's the bad rap by default.
Well the good news is that this too shall pass. You can do it, it's just two weeks. The best news is that Chris has the new job.
Remember things can always be worse. Have a great weekend!
I hate the every other week paycheck! Ever since we had a second kid, I now know the meaning of living from paycheck to paycheck. We are also on this healthy eating kick, which means I have to cook EVERY night...no more easy ordering in, I hate that too. I died laughing when I read the part about needing someone to make you a meal planning board because you're too busy pinning! And, G helping you cook...too freakin cute!!
I feel your pain. We went from every two weeks to once a month when I got this job.
