Every day I wonder if today is my day to be fired...it's a horrible way to live. I know it's a really hard time right now, but just start working on the old resume and do what you can to keep your job now without killing yourself.
Sign upat Monster.com, Indeed.com and LinkedIn to have email alerts sent for key words in jobs that you might want. It's the easiest way to look for a job without spending a ton of time looking for a job.

Go with your gut. If it's telling you that you may be next, then definitely be proactive and start looking. Plus your salary is maxed but the cost of living will forever rise, so that's a consideration too.

One of the most important things for me is what I call the "fun factor." If it's not fun, then it's not worth doing, no matter how good the pay or other benefits. I once took a job with a $14,000 pay increase and hated every minute of it. I lasted 7 months before bailing for something else that paid less but made me much, much happier.

If you dread going to work every day, wonder what the heck you're doing there once you arrive and can't leave the stress at the office when you go home, then it may not be worth it.

It can be really hard to admit it's time for a change because your comfortable where you are, even if the "comfort" is with a not-ideal situation. Talk it out with the hubster and you'll figure out what to do.

I always have that little voice in the back of my head that says "find a new job". It sucks when you don't feel needed or wanted. If I remember correctly, we are in the same profession... it is a stressful profession, at that. If you get to stay, be true to yourself when asking if that is truely the job for you.
